PEACE TALKS OR PROPAGANDA? 🤔

Here’s what we think is happening:

Iran might be blinking first. Or not. Depends on who you believe.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran’s been using Arab intermediaries to whisper sweet nothings about peace into the ears of Israel and the U.S. They’re reportedly saying, “Let’s be friends, as long as the U.S. stays out of the fight.”

But Al Jazeera says it’s fake news. One of their journalists, Ali Hashem, claims two sources shot down the idea. Iran, apparently, hasn’t sent a single text to cool things off.

So… who’s lying? Who’s telling the truth?

No one really knows. What we do know is this:

  • The missiles have been flying non-stop for four days.

  • Oil markets have been ping-ponging because of it.

  • Over 400 people are confirmed dead in Iran.

  • Brent and WTI prices dipped today but are still way up from where they were a week ago.

Oil prices have been up & down but don’t expect that to change until we have some certainty

Oil update:

  • WTI Crude: $71.66 (-1.8%)

  • Brent Crude: $72.84 (-1.9%)

Call it a breather after a sprint.

Meanwhile in Washington...

Trump says he blocked Israel from assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader. Yeah. That would’ve escalated things real fast. Instead, he’s now channeling his inner peacemaker and posted:

“Iran and Israel should make a deal... just like I got India and Pakistan to make.”

Donald Trump’s post on Trust Social

(He didn’t, by the way.)

What’s Israel saying?

PM Netanyahu says it’s not over until Iran’s nuclear program is toast. Full send. No walk-backs. No mixed signals. Just missiles.

And the market?

Somehow, Wall Street rallied on all this. Traders seem to think less war = more money.

Iran might want peace. Or they don’t. Israel isn’t slowing down. Trump’s talking trade deals. Oil's yo-yoing.

And we’re all watching, waiting, wondering… is this just the beginning or the beginning of the end?

1. Trade the Oil Volatility
Tensions between Iran and Israel mean whiplash for oil markets. Spikes and dips will continue as news flips from escalation to de-escalation.
📌 Action: Swing trade oil ETFs like $USO ( ▲ 1.12% ) or $BNO ( ▲ 1.1% ) . Close trades on big moves.

2. Hedge With Defense Stocks
Regional war = higher defense budgets and weapons exports. Defense contractors often rally during prolonged geopolitical tensions.
📌 Action: Add exposure to defense plays like $LMT ( ▲ 0.61% ) , $NOC ( ▲ 0.71% ) , or $RTX ( ▼ 1.25% ) . Use these as hedges against broader market shocks.

3. Watch Middle East ETF Rebound
If peace talks take root, battered regional equities may bounce like we’ve seen today. Gulf states urging diplomacy could stabilize outlooks.
📌 Action: Monitor and scale into recovery trades via ETFs like $GULF ( ▲ 0.8% ) or country-specific funds for UAE or Saudi Arabia. Tight stop losses recommended.

ZUCK’S NOT DONE WITH WHATSAPP 💰️

$META ( ▼ 2.56% ) just confirmed that ads are coming to WhatsApp.

Yes. That WhatsApp. The one you only use to say “here” when you arrive somewhere or to drop 3-hour voice notes no one asked for.

Before you panic and throw your phone into the sea, here’s what you need to know:

Where are the ads going?

The ads aren’t showing up in your chats.

You’ll still be able to message your group chat “on my way” while still in the shower, ad-free.

The ads are going to live in your updates tab on whatsapp

Instead, the ads will live inside the Updates tab. That’s where WhatsApp puts things like Status and Channels — basically the content side of the app.

If you never open that tab, you might not even notice. If you do, well… brace for banner season.

Why is it happening?

Meta loves two things:

  • Building big platforms

  • Monetizing the hell out of them

WhatsApps been ad free for long enough. Now Meta is looking to do what they do best. Monetise eyeballs

WhatsApp’s been ad-free forever, but it also has 2.8 billion users. That’s a lot of eyeballs just sitting there.

So Meta’s gonna do what Meta does best: slap ads on it.

And they’re not stopping at just ads. They’re also rolling out:

  • Channel subscriptions

  • Promoted channels

Creators and businesses will get more reach. Meta will get more revenue. You’ll get… more “Sponsored” buttons.

Follow the Money

In Q1, Meta pulled in $41.4 billion in ad revenue. That’s up 16 percent from last year.

Now they’re looking at WhatsApp as the next engine to keep that number climbing.

Meta ads is just a money printer

Zuck & Co say this won't mess with your personal messaging experience.

"No changes to your chats," they said. AKA "We know you hate ads. Please don’t uninstall us."

When is it happening?

This stuff isn’t going live today. Meta says the rollout will happen over the next few months. And I’m surprised it’s taken them this long, to be honest.

So enjoy the peaceful version of WhatsApp while you still can. Soon, the “Status” tab might feel more like Instagram Lite.

WhatsApp is changing. Slowly. Ads are coming. Subscriptions too.

If Meta’s history tells us anything, this is just the beginning.

Now’s a good time to start asking: Is anything truly ad-free anymore?

1. Double Down on Meta’s Ad Engine
Meta is unlocking a massive new revenue stream by adding ads to WhatsApp’s 2.8B users. Just like it did with Instagram.
📌 Action: Add to long-term positions in $META ( ▼ 2.56% ) as WhatsApp evolves into a revenue-generating machine without disrupting core user behavior.

2. Back the AdTech Ecosystem
WhatsApp’s ad rollout will boost demand for smarter targeting, analytics, and cross-platform ad delivery.
📌 Action: Build exposure to leading adtech players like $TTD ( ▲ 2.08% ) (The Trade Desk) or $APPS ( ▼ 1.19% ) (Digital Turbine), which benefit from expanded inventory and ad spend.

3. Invest in Creator Monetization Tools
As WhatsApp rolls out subscriptions and promoted channels, expect a surge in tools that help creators grow and monetize.
📌 Action: Watch for growth in platforms like $SPOT ( ▼ 5.86% ) (Spotify) and $SHOP ( ▼ 2.32% ) (Shopify), which are expanding into creator monetization ecosystems.
